Once homeowners have taken possession of their property, they must contact Florida Public Utilities customer care (800.427.7712, Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST) to activate service. This will formally transfer the service account to the new homeowners.

The account will remain the builder’s responsibility until:

  1. The builder notifies the Company to disconnect service. OR,
  2. The customer activates service.
