March 13, 2015. Hypoluxo Island, Florida. The clean, safe fuel is now available to Hypoluxo Island. Florida Public Utilities (FPU) has completed installation of the infrastructure necessary to provide natural gas to residents of the Island.

At the request of the Hypoluxo Island Property Owners Association and the help of the Town of Lantana, FPU secured the necessary approvals to bring the natural gas distribution system to residents.

“Natural gas is a clean, efficient, domestic fuel,” said Jeff Householder, President of FPU. “This project will benefit the environment and enable homeowners to rely on clean and reliable energy.”

Homeowners wishing to install natural gas at their home can contact FPU for a free cost estimate to convert their propane appliances or install new gas appliances. Hypoluxo Island residents can enjoy a $1,200 credit toward the construction of their service line when installing a natural gas water heater, and many other attractive appliance rebates are also available.
