West Palm Beach, FL  February 10, 2014 – HomeServe USA (HomeServe) today announced the expansion of its agreement with Florida Public Utilities (FPU), a subsidiary of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, to offer home repair service plans to FPU’s natural gas customers in Southern and Central Florida.  The initial service offering will provide optional repair service on natural gas fuel lines, the natural gas piping from the outlet of the meter up to each appliance, owned by residential FPU customers.

FPU natural gas customers can now purchase coverage for both their exterior and interior gas lines through a single combined plan, offered at an affordable price of $5.75 per month. HomeServe also offers an electrical surge protection program for FPU’s electric customers.

HomeServe, which serves more than 4 million customers across the U.S., will also be providing Cooling Repair, Water Service Line and Sewer/Septic Line Plans as additional service options for FPU customers. Participating customers will be able to conveniently pay for these plans from HomeServe directly on their FPU bill.

FPU customers holding HomeServe plans will have access to a US-based Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to schedule a repair. HomeServe will send a local, licensed and insured contractors right to their home for repairs.  The service plans HomeServe is offering FPU customers are affordably priced between $4.99 and $39.99 a month.

“The feedback we’ve received from our customers about HomeServe’s surge protection plan, which we implemented last year, has been terrific, so we’re excited to expand our partnership to include coverage for customer owned natural gas lines,” said Aleida Socarras, Marketing & Sales Director at FPU. “These and the other available protection plans now available to our customers offer convenience and affordability as well as great customer service should they need a repair on these systems.”

“It’s important that homeowners know they are responsible for repairs when a leak occurs on customer owned gas fuel lines and that when a problem occurs, they have an available service to turn to that will take care of them quickly,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of HomeServe USA. “Through this partnership with FPU, we hope to spare Florida homeowners from the inconvenience and expense these and other home repairs can bring.”

Details about the new program will be mailed to FPU customers starting this week. For more information, contact HomeServe toll-free at 1-855-849-9197.
