Florida Public Utilities was presented the opportunity to develop a presentation for the local Boy Scout Troop in Palm Beach Gardens regarding energy conservation in the home. The Scouting Program recently begun a sustainability badge the scouts can work toward. The badge is called, “Building a Better World.”
Scott Ranck, Senior Conservation Specialist, crafted a presentation for the scouts titled, “Building a Better World, The Responsible Use of Energy.” In the presentation, we investigate how our homes use energy, where that energy comes from, how much energy our city, country and world uses and how that energy is generated or delivered.
The presentation looks at energy problems that need solved like the incorporation of renewable energy sources and the big problem of energy storage. The scouts were full of questions and were highly engaged throughout the talk. The boys even mailed Scott a “thank you” letter and photo after the presentation!
